Azouma Canterbury

If you are looking for fantastic food in a great cozy environment then it has to be Azouma Canterbury. This is a Middle Eastern restaurant that produces some of the most outstanding food I have ever tried.

My daughter is a huge fan of Middle Eastern food and she was bowled over when she tried the food here. We were very well looked after by the friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

If you have never tried Middle Eastern cuisine you are truly missing out. It's full of flavour, as the cooks use the most fantastic blends of spices.

I would recommend you try their Baba Gahnoush (a smoked aubergine dip that is full or flavour) and the Lebneh for a cold Mezze, my daughter just loves the smokiness of the Baba Gahnoush.

For main their lamb is simply delicious and just falls off the bone, I would also highly recommend the tagine, as its full of flavour and the meat is just delicious.

Inside they have the most wonderful decor and a layout that makes you feel that you have been transported across the world to the bazaars of Marrakesh or Cairo. Very cosy and beautifully lit, it is a great romantic haunt or can be just a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy with friends. You will not be disappointed.

Every Thursday they also have their own entertainment in the form of a belly dancer, so if you fancy an evening with a difference its well worth saving your trip for a Thursday.

If you fancy something different for after dinner, you can indulge in the shisha pipe. If you have not tried on before it is well worth it. They have a wide menu of tobacco flavors, my son in law is a fan of the strawberry one. Go on give it a go!
