Canterbury Shopping

Canterbury shopping is a great experience.I never have to take trips up to London for Christmas shopping trips or drive to that we have everything shopping mall complex that is larger than a desert, because I always get what I need in Canterbury. There are so many shops that cover all sorts of requirements when canterbury shopping. I have tried to categorize them for you and give you the best places I think, you can go to.

From the shop that sells the typical English shortbread to the kitchenware shop where you can find 100s of things you never thought you needed, hopefully this guide can point you in the right direction.

Canterbury Department Stores

We have three large department stores located in Canterbury, where you can buy anything from lingerie to frying pans.

Nasons The oldest department store in Canterbury, selling classic English brands, in a traditional setting.

Debenhams A great place to find a designer dress at high street prices. Its also great for a good browse.

There are plenty of great gift shops in Canterbury but here are the ones that we use on a regular basis.

Canterbury Gift Shop One of my favorite gift shops this is great for cards, and gifts unique to Canterbury, a on your Canterbury shopping trip

Benjis Sweet Shop A great place to buy that taste of England. A sweet shop that sells a whole variety of fantatsic sweets and chocolates, well worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth.

Chaucer Book Shop My absolute favorite book shop. You are guaranteed to find something special for either yourself or someone you love

Toiletry Boutiques

If you are looking for those pampering gifts for either yourself or a friend, then we have a couple of lovely places for you to get that something special.

L'Occitane For that pure indulgence you must stop here, they have the most amazing premium products and the boutique is well worth a visit.

The Body Shop Toiletries and gifts for the more discerning budget and for those who want to spend their money in ethical boutiques.

English Shopping Lingo

The English Shops are full of offers so here is my breakdown of the language around the Offers

Buy one Get one Free or BOGOF This is exactly as it says, you buy one of the items you get a second free, so if you see this on an item you are buying chuck two in your basket as you will get two for the price of one

Three for Two An extension of buy one get one free, you buy two you get the third free, so stick three in your basket and you only pay for two

Half Price You pay only 50% of the price of the item.

It really is worth having a good look around as the UK shops are full of these tyoes of bargins and by shopping around you can get quite a bit more for your money
